General FAQ's
Q - Do I need to book in advance?
A - No need to book in advanced for all activities unless you are a group larger than 20 and are looking to book out of our normal working hours. Its advised to come before lunch time as it can get quite busy mid afternoon.
Q - Whats the best time of day to come?
A - We would recommend before lunch time as it can get busy mid afternoon.
Q - I've phoned twice but theres no answer?
A - This means there is no one in the shop please phone back in our normal Opening Times or use our Contact Form.
Q - Why are you only open weekends, school and bank holidays?
A - Cost, opening standard weekdays is not cost affective for us hence why we only open busy periods. If you require our services for large school/corporate groups please use our Contact Form.
Q - Are you open on bad weather days?
A - Opening times are subject to weather conditions, phoning before hand is advised on mixed weather days - 0121 553 4767 or Contact Us
Q - Your website says you open until 6pm, why cant I hire anything at 5:50pm?
A - 6pm is the time the shop is closed, all hire equipment is required back a minimum of 30 minutes before closing.
Q - Do you offer discount for large groups such as school / corporate groups?
A - Yes, Please Contact Us with more details such as activities required, Number of adults and children, Dates and times.
Q - Do I have to pay for parking?
A - Yes, parking is managed by Sandwell Council, current charges (June 2019) are as little as £2 for the whole day. Any details on parking charges please see Sandwell Council.
Q - Can I get change for parking?
A - Sadly with the high demand we cannot offer change for parking as we have little our selfs, if you buy something we can offer change were applicable.
Q - I've email or used your contact form but I've had no response?
A - We aim to respond to all questions within 24 hours, if you have not had a response in this time please try checking your spam folder.

Bike Hire FAQ's
Q - I've tried to hire a bike in the past but was turned away because I had no ID why is this?
A - Our insurance company insists we need we take a UK driving licence or any nationality passport while bikes are on hire, 1-5 bikes £20 deposit and pay for hire by credit/debit card. This is standard procedure for most hire shops.
Q - Whats the recommend duration to hire bikes?
A - We recommend a minimum of 2 hours to enjoy the cycle routes of Sandwell Valley, however hire does start from 1 hour.
Q - What happens to my driving license while I'm hiring bikes?
A - Your driving license or passport along with your receipt of payment and T&C's form is placed in a sealed plastic pouch then kept in our secure safe behind the till, once bikes are returned you get your security deposit back. We store the T&C's form for 12 months, after this period the form is destroyed. We do not share any personal information with any 3rd party.
Q - What happens if in late returning bikes?
A - All details will be outlined upon hire and listed in the T&C's form, more details on the downloadable form here.
Q - Can I hire bikes for the full day and return then early and get a refund?
A -
Q - Do you carry out repairs or lend out tools?
A - No sorry we are a hire only shop and staff are not trained to carry out repairs nor do we have the relevant insurance to do so. We do not lend out tools due to health and safety issues.
Q - I cant ride a bike can I use yours to learn?
A - No sorry our bikes are only to be used if you can already cycle, to find out about cycling lessons in your local area please contact you local council and ask about "Bike Ability"

A - No sorry studded boots rip up the greens.

A - Staff regularly patrol the course checking tickets, please do not feel offended if you are asked to produce your ticket.
Q - Can I use my own equipment?
A - Yes you can or you can hire equipment from our hire shop.

Q - Why do I have to wear a life jacket I can already swim?
A - This is part of our risk assessment / health and safety procedure.
Q - I have two kids and two adults why was I charged for a 4 person hire?
A - If you children were under 2 years old they would of been let on free of charge, anyone over the age of 2 is classed a a person and charged for accordingly.
Q - Why does an adult have to be on board the boat?
A - Adults are required to be in charge of group in the event of an accident or misuse.
Q - Do you do 15 minutes hire for half the price?
A - No sorry our prices are already below the nation average and provide great value for money.
